Report a Meter Base

Meter Base Grounding and Bonding

ESA identified an increase of installed meter bases where the neutral assembly (i.e. neutral block) is isolated from the enclosure.  An isolated neutral assembly inside the meter base, without a bonding conductor installed between the meter base and the service box, poses a potential safety hazard.

The ESA is asking you to report the site address where a meter base was not properly bonded to increase our understanding of how frequently this occurs, and the volume associated with these types of installations.  

If you have identified a site address where this has occurred, ensure you follow your workplace safety procedures, do not make contact, and report it to ESA.  Once information has been validated, ESA will ensure appropriate corrective actions are taken.
