Electrical Distribution Safety Regulation

Ontario Regulation 22/04

Electrical Distribution Safety Regulation, Ontario Regulation 22/04 sets out objective-based electrical safety requirements for distribution systems. These cover the design, construction and maintenance of electrical distribution systems owned by distribution companies licensed by the Ontario Energy Board. The Regulation requires distribution companies to get approval of equipment, plans, specifications and inspection of construction before putting systems into service. It also provides options for getting these approvals. ESA reviews audits to ensure compliance to safety standards and undertakes inspections to confirm compliance with the Regulation.
