ESA Appoints Sandra Montague as Chief Financial Officer

Mississauga, ON — July 5, 2021 – The Electrical Safety Authority (ESA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Sandra Montague to the position of Chief Financial Officer, effective today.

“I am delighted to welcome Sandra Montague to ESA. She brings more than 20 years of financial management and reporting leadership; as well as enterprise risk management, business operations, human resources and change management experience to the Chief Financial Officer role,” said David Collie, President & Chief Executive Officer, Electrical Safety Authority.  “Ms. Montague is a highly skilled business strategist whose vast expertise in driving organizational growth will accelerate our progress and serve ESA well as we continue to implement our five-year corporate strategy, Safely Powering Tomorrow: The Journey towards a Modern Regulator.” 

As a member of ESA’s executive management team, Ms. Montague will focus on providing financial direction to the organization, enhancing enterprise risk management, supporting the implementation of ESA’s five-year strategic plan and implementing the recent Auditor General of Ontario’s recommendations. Previous CFO Kevin Greer has recently retired after 10 years of exceptional service to ESA.  

Most recently, Ms. Montague was Chief Financial and Administration Officer of the Resource Productivity and Recovery Authority, the regulator established by the Government of Ontario in November 2016 to support the transition to a circular economy and a waste–free Ontario. While there she was responsible for the finance, administration and human resources portfolios.  Ms. Montague has also held roles of Chief Transformation Officer and Chief Financial & Administration Officer of the Alzheimer Society of Ontario; as well as Financial Controller & Director of Finance of Kinetic Concepts, Inc. (KCI Medical Canada, Inc.).  
 


About the Electrical Safety Authority

The Electrical Safety Authority's (ESA’s) role is to enhance public electrical safety in Ontario. As an administrative authority acting on behalf of the Government of Ontario, ESA is responsible for administering specific regulations related to the Ontario Electrical Safety Code, the licensing of Electrical Contractors and Master Electricians, electricity distribution system safety, and electrical product safety. ESA works extensively with stakeholders throughout the province on education, training and promotion to foster electrical safety across the province.
