Electrical Safety Authority Warns of Certain Unapproved Electrical Products Sold by Wholesale Innovations
April 30, 2020 — The Electrical Safety Authority (ESA) is notifying the public about certain unapproved electrical products sold in Ontario by Wholesale Innovations.
These electrical products are unapproved, have not been tested for compliance with any Canadian Safety Standards and do not bear any recognized Canadian certification marks.
- Name of Product: Various appliances, including, but not limited to
- food dehydrators
- portable heaters
- air purifiers
- ozone generators
- soldering stations
- Sold by: Wholesale Innovations at their location in Pickering, ON and, allegedly, online on eBay.
- Seller: Wholesale Innovations, 1800 Ironstone Manor, Unit 3, Pickering, ON, L1W 3W9
- Manufactured in: unknown
- Sold before: December 2019
- Incidents/Injuries: None reported
Remedy: End users should check markings on the products and make sure the products have recognized certification marks. If no recognized certification mark(s) is found, such products should be unplugged immediately and users should stop using them.
