Ontario Electrical Safety Awards Program

Do you know a champion of electrical safety? A person, organization or group of people in your community, workplace or industry that should be recognized for their leadership in promoting electrical safety in Ontario and contributing to building a safety culture in Ontario.  We want to know who they are, recognize their work, and honour their contribution to electrical safety.
The Electrical Safety Authority (ESA) believes that fostering an electrical safety culture in Ontario will assist in realizing our vision of an Ontario free of electrical fatality, injury and loss.  ESA’s five year strategic plan envisions a 30% reduction in electrical harm, thereby requiring a strong commitment to safety at home and in the workplace. 

To champion the further development of a safety culture, ESA is proud to announce the introduction of a new awards program:  the Ontario Electrical Safety Award. This program is designed to celebrate and champion electrical safety in Ontario by recognizing leadership and achievement in the promotion of electrical safety and outstanding contributions to the building of a safety culture in Ontario. 

The awards will be presented by ESA.  We will salute outstanding contributions to safety throughout the province and various industries with the purpose of encouraging and acknowledging all those who are dedicated to making our province a safer place to work, live and play.

AWARDS
Individuals and/or Organizations will be honoured in each of the four key harm reduction areas identified in ESA’s 5-year Strategic Plan.  The four award categories are:

  • Powerline Safety
  • Product Safety
  • Workplace/Worker Safety
  • Consumer/Home Electrical Safety

AWARD SELECTION
Award recipients will be selected by an Ontario Electrical Safety Award’s Selection Committee, which will include ESA’s Chief Public Safety Officer, industry representatives and respected individuals in the electrical safety field.
